The American Health Care Association (AHCA) is a non-profit federation of affiliated state health organizations, together representing more than 10,000 non-profit and for-profit assisted living, nursing facility, developmentally-disabled, and subacute care providers that care for more than 1.5 million elderly and disabled individuals nationally.

AHCA represents the long term care community to the nation at large – to government, business leaders, and the general public. It also serves as a force for change within the long term care field, providing information, education, and administrative tools that enhance quality at every level.

GHCA strives to enhance the ability of our member facilities to provide competent and compassionate care to meet the ever changing health care needs of Georgia elderly and disabled citizens.
The Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman (Georgia) seeks to improve the quality of life for residents of long-term care facilities (nursing homes, intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded, personal care homes, and community living arrangements). The State Office certifies and trains community ombudsmen who work to resolve concerns of long-term care facility residents statewide. We emphasize residents' wishes in assisting to resolve problems.

The Georgia Department of Family and Children’s Services assists individuals and families with a variety of health and family services including financial services such as Medicaid.
